The Beginning.
So I guess this all started when I stopped being afraid. Sounds a bit melodramatic, but it's true. The exact day that I decided to stop living life in the confines of the comfort and safety of own my home is hard to pinpoint, but that day changed everything for me. I also owe a considerable amount of credit to my co-blogger, Ted, who, coincidentally, is not afraid of anything. So why am I saying all of this? I've discovered a love of the outdoors and getting out there and really living. I moved to Oswego. NY a year ago (just about to the day) and had mixed feelings. Can't stand the snow, but holy smokes, what a gorgeous lake! And the bluffs! And the break wall! There are so many beautiful resources here that are highly underutilized. We have a growing number of youth in this area with a desire to change the way this city runs -- be it with local businesses, art, or adventures, that need to be brought to the surface and recognized. After an very inspiring trip to Chattanooga, Tennessee, (we'll get to that...) the ideas were solidified. We may not be living in the most ideal location for climbing, rafting, kayaking, etc. but it does exist out here! We have a vast amount of water and land here to make our small city into a truly great place to explore the outdoors. Our goal for this blog (and eventual website) is to let people know what a beautiful place Oswego is and the potential it can have to positively impact the lives of the people who visit and live here by getting out and enjoying the land. Any city can be a beautiful place when we surround ourselves with the people who can see it. We plan to show you these people, these places, and introduce you to a new side of Oswego, NY. Viva Oswegas, everyone.
